About Write Like a Girl

Created by Hayley Marsten and Sarah Leete in 2018, ‘Write Like a Girl’ runs all female song writing rounds to amplify the voices and stories of women in the music industry. First run at the 2019 Tamworth Country Music Festival, WLAG shows strip back all the noise and fanfare and lets you into these songwriter’s studios, bedrooms and songbooks to hear their art how it began. Our vision is focused on bringing women's stories to the forefront and giving fans an opportunity to see their best-loved artists and new favourites in a special, intimate setting. Though these shows are stripped back there is no skimping on entertainment and heart, with audiences leaving feeling as though they just got to hang out with a friend and share their feelings and vulnerabilities. We welcome female-identifying songwriters from all genres. WLAG shows are a safe space for all, we do not tolerate anything that threatens that.
